Belinda Emmett

BRIEF

Belinda Emmett was an Australian singer & actress often recognised from her roles on televison shows such as Home & Away and All Saints. In April 2007, her posthumous album 'So I Am' was released to the public.

Finally the world gets to hear the music that Belinda Emmett was making over the last six years.

In 2005 Belinda formed a company 'Hooch Records' to release her debut album. The company was formed in partnership with her husband Rove and many of the people who worked with Rove got involved in Hooch, particularly executive producer Craig Campbell.

Between 2000 and 2006 Belinda threw herself into songwriting, collaborating with Phil Buckle and Andrew Furze (amongst others) and then recording with Phil in his Melbourne studio.

In 2006 Belinda worked with producer Daniel Denholm to bring her long awaited and hard fought debut So I Am to its final form. When we lost Belinda November 2006 she and Daniel were still working to complete the album. Daniel completed one of her songs, Less Than Perfect, which was released to radio and made available for download in the week of her funeral.

Now "So I Am", Belinda's first album, is to be released through Liberation Music with Hooch's profits to be donated to the McGrath Foundation, who have already raised more than $200,000 in Belinda's name to provide breast care nurses for Australian women, in particular on the NSW Central Coast where Belinda grew up.

There is also a great sense of sadness that Belinda never got to hear her songs in such a wonderful completed state."
